GIG NEWS:
We have just been asked to perform an encore show at the Globe on May 5th - with Ponyloaf, Holocene and Mass Migration. This is a last minute request, so may not be quite as extravagant as the last performance, but we do promise to debut some brand new songs that we've been toiling over. And there's always room for some theatrics or other suprises... you'll just have to come along and find out. Thanks to everyone who came and supported us on 30th March at The Globe - it was a huge night and a fantastic turnout. We'll be releasing footage from the night as well as samples of the visual clips online over the next few weeks so keep checking the website or myspace for more info.
It's been a quiet few months without news from the Mesmere camp, but we are happy to say that we are still kicking and about to explode back into action once more.
Our debut album 'An Overlong Welcome' is living up to its name. We’ve released it online, with great results so far, and we will soon be setting it free at home and putting together a tour to support. In the meantime you can grab your copy online at www.anoverlongwelcome.com.
On FRIDAY the 30th MARCH we will be making our return to the big stage at THE GLOBE THEATRE, 220 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley in Brisbane. (www.globetheatre.com.au). We will be joined by two fantastic local bands Skinny Jean (melodic indie-rock) and Little Red Light (funk-rock). Local minstrels Jake Rush and Dan Parsons will keep things happening acoustic-style in the foyer between sets.
So what makes this gig so special? Glad you asked… This performance will be a SPECIAL SHOWCASE featuring all-new original work by VISUAL PROJECTION EXTRAORDINAIRES – the Award Winning RED TAPE PICTURES. We've received funding (three cheers for Arts Queensland www.arts.qld.gov.au) to produce a series of visual pieces and re-work our live show. We're just in the process of wrapping this up and will be debuting the resulting spectacle at the Globe gig. I know we're a little biased, but we think this is really something quite special. But don’t take our word for it, you'll just have to come and see for yourself... Also we’ll be filming and recording the show so if you’re inclined to a spot of nude crowd surfing then we guarantee your moment of fame will be immortalised forever.
